Some thoughts on finding balance…

Today on FaceBook I came across a beautiful post by Rabbi David Wolpe in California. He shared, “Rabbi Simcha Bunim taught that every person should carry two pieces of paper, one in each pocket: in one pocket ‘For me the world was created.’ and in the other ‘I am but dust and ashes.’  When we have moments of self loathing take out the first; in moments of grandiosity the second. Our souls are poised between greatness and nothingness; in knowing both are we blessed.”

How do you find your place of balance? What do you do? Take a breath? Say a comforting slogan? Kiss someone you love? Sing a song? Say a prayer? Take a walk outside? Whatever it is you do, make sure you do it regularly, and do it with awareness of your important, yet small place in this world. And, of course, remember your connection to all the other important, small places in this universe, and how it affects the balance of it all…Perspective making, isn’t it?

Have you touched your balance point yet today? How did it make you feel?

Be happy and well,
